Spot Hidden Talents
When performance outruns self-perception.
What it is
A flag that appears when your objective performance in a domain meaningfully exceeds your self-report and the estimate is confident.
Why it matters
Many people underrate themselves. This signal highlights strengths you can lean on, helping with choices (courses, roles, projects) and confidence.
How we calculate it
- Compare objective score to your self-rating for the same domain.
- Require a minimum item count (N) and a low standard error (SE) so it isn't a lucky streak.
- Trigger only when the gap exceeds a conservative threshold.
How to use it
Treat it as a prompt to practice and showcase that domain. Revisit the long test later to confirm the signal as N grows and SE drops.
